inTime’s strategy also focuses on increasing the proportion of mega trailers – that is, semi-trailers with loading heights of three meters and enough space to accommodate up to 34 pallets. “We are investing in our assets and expanding our fleet so that we can meet our customers’ needs for more cargo space,” said inTime Managing Director Gerd Röttger. The Isernhagen-based logistics service provider has found another way to follow through on its service promise: On February 1, 2020, it joined the European Cargo Federation of International Freight Forwarders, most commonly known by its German acronym ELVIS. The association has over 200 corporate members and a total of 17,000 moving units. “The network’s powerful capabilities as well as ELVIS’s professionalism and service portfolio were ultimately what convinced us to get involved in an external association for the first time,” explained Röttger.

ELVIS’s services range from creating synergies in areas such as procurement to tackling urgent issues through specific working groups – especially when the issues affect day-to-day operations in logistics and transportation. “We want to share these advantages with our freight forwarders,” added Röttger. inTime also plans to harness ELVIS to further increase utilization rates for its transportation capacity. In return, the express logistics provider will contribute its own rapid delivery capabilities. After all, it possesses a flexible network that other members can use to quickly and reliably deliver shipments.
