Aktion Tschernobyl-Hilfe e.V.

20.12.2018 - The nuclear disaster at the nuclear power station in Chernobyl in April 1986 children and their families in the former Soviet territories get ill or in need. This extent of the health consequences for these people isn’t foreseeable even 32 years later. The association “Aktion Tschernobyl-Hilfe e.V.” in Hildesheim gives children's hospitals the opportunity to help in their own country and cares for sick children in their families.

This year, the project was supported in the field of ENT in Ukraine. The OR in a children’s hospital was equipped by donations, now the execution of difficult operations became possible. In addition, the doctors from Ukraine are often at the Medical School in Hannover to learn difficult interventions and provide their patients with Western European standards.

As a supporting member, we support actively the association “Aktion Tschernobyl-Hilfe e.V.”  with domestic German transports. So this year we transported 40 donated car tires for the ambulances in the Ukraine to Hildesheim or even medical equipment, such as new ventilators and phototherapy lamps to prevent jaundice of babies. Furthermore, we support the club again this year with an additional donation.

The Chernobyl disaster has shaped all of us, so a nuclear accident never barred. We want to play our part in giving these children a new life.
