Using megatrends to your advantage: Gerd Röttger in an interview with DVZ

10.05.2023 - How do you make use of the ups and downs of the markets to gain a competitive advantage? This is one of the questions that Gerd Röttger, Managing Director of Intime Express Logistik, asks himself on a daily basis. As a logistics specialist, it is important to be aware of the market situation and to analyse the trends correctly in order to be able to use them to the advantage of the company. He believes the key lies in combining Assets, Automation and Digitalisation.

For inTime, agile logistics means being able to react to the volatility of the market. In the automotive sector in particular, the logistics provider is able to offer appropriate solutions in the event of peak requirements, sudden interruptions, planning and process failures. In order to manage such time-critical logistics processes, inTime has been relying on digitalisation for many years. Fleet tracking, prediction of arrival times and a high level of data integration are all standard features at inTime. To achieve this, the company has been working for years with software developed in-house. This software links all areas of the company.

To ensure that inTime can maintain its current market position in the future, Gerd Röttger is focusing on three main areas: providing sufficient freight space for the company's own vehicles, compensating for the lack of skilled workers through automation and efficiently bundling loads through software solutions. In an interview with the DVZ, he tells us about the tasks he sees for the future, how he views the changes brought about by the current geopolitical situation and which IT systems he would like to expand in a holistic manner.
