Mutual partnership
inTime and GETEC have been working together since spring 2021. From the collection of charging stations, pedestals and foundations from the manufacturers, through storage and inventory management, to delivery on demand, the express logistics provider offers the charging infrastructure expert a complete all-round service. "The challenge for us is to deliver just in time to the construction sites where the charging stations are being installed. Many of the sites are located in urban areas. Here, the construction work must be carried out as quietly and quickly as possible. inTime can fully meet these requirements," says Lina Polom, Head of Operations at GETEC mobility solutions GmbH. The transport and logistics services provided were the basis for the expanded cooperation. Last year, inTime decided to implement a charging infrastructure for company vehicles. "Due to the excellent business relationship and the extensive experience with the integration of electric mobility in commercial properties, the decision for GETEC was not difficult," says Jörg Breitenbürger, Head of Sales. "GETEC's service portfolio also convinced us.
Implementation of charging infrastructure
The first charging stations were installed at the company's headquarters in Isernhagen. Nine wallboxes, each with two charging points and an output of eleven kilowatts, are now located on the company premises. Four of the wallboxes are powered by the solar panels on the new inTime warehouse. A separate cable network has been installed for the charging points outside the warehouse. Thanks to GETEC's meticulous inventory and action planning, there were no implementation difficulties. "The challenge was in planning the parking areas. When the new warehouse was built, the power supply from the solar system was already planned, but new cables had to be laid for the remaining charging columns, as these could not be connected to the regular power grid. These are now fully operational and, of course, run on green electricity - even if they are not powered by our own solar panels," says Jörg Breitenbürger.
Charging management from GETEC
In June, more than 21,000 km were travelled with electricity from the charging stations. The stations can be used not only by company vehicles, but also by employees' private vehicles and external visitors for a fee. "GETEC has of course introduced different identification systems for the various user groups. Using the RFID tag on the employee ID card, a charging card or QR codes, it is possible to determine at any time which vehicles are being charged, how much they have charged or which charging points are free," explains Servet Cakir from the technical building management.
GETEC's strength is evident in the simultaneous charging of several vehicles. "Unlike other charging point providers, GETEC offers intelligent load management. Taking into account the number of vehicles charging at the same time and their respective requirements, the energy is distributed evenly," explains Jörg Breitenbürger. "This is where GETEC's experience from the property industry and its private and commercial customers shows. In the meantime, one or two charging columns have also been integrated at the inTime locations in Frankfurt, Nufringen, Leipzig and Röttenbach.
Furthering the collaboration
To date, inTime has 27 hybrid and five fully electric company vehicles, and this number will continue to grow. Furthermore, the logistics and transport cooperation between inTime and GETEC will be developed further. Sebastian Schick, Head of Sales at GETEC mobility, says: "We have experienced significant growth in recent months and will continue to do so in the coming months in the area of installation and operating services. inTime's fast response and communication are impressive features of our cooperation. With the expected increase in transport volumes, we look forward to further mutual synergies".
A new project is also about to begin with inTime subsidiary LiBcyle, specialising in the transport of batteries and rechargeable batteries.
